In The Ring Two, Rachel must investigate the background of Samara Morgan following the death of her son who gets sick with a mysterious ailment.In The Ring, Rachel Keller is an investigative journalist is approached by her sister Ruth to find out the mysterious reasons behind Katie's death. Rachel learns from her that Katie was healthy and discovered Katie's body disfigured inside the closet. Katie's friends inform Rachel about the myth of the tape with the curse and the story of Katie's friend Becca was put in an institution after Katie's death. The girl also learns Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her acquaintances were killed in bizarre accidents the same night at 10 pm. Rachel encounters Anna's widower Richard. Richard insists that Rachel leave the scene as soon as she begins to ask questions regarding Samara.
