Audra Mcdonald is an exceptional artist in terms of the diversity and scope of her abilities as a performer and singer. In 2015, she won an unprecedented 6 Tony Awards as well as two Grammy Awards and the Emmy Award. The actress then starred alongside Kathy Bates and Victor Garber in the critically acclaimed 1999 TV remake from Disney/ABC of Annie and, in 2000, was a frequent guest on NBC's popular series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. McDonald, who earned the Emmy Award nomination for 1999 for her work on the HBO adaption of the Pulitzer Prize-winning show Wit featuring Emma Thompson returned to network television in 2003 with the political drama Mister Sterling. The film was created by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. McDonald joined the WB The Bedford Diaries The Bedford Diaries in early 2006. The following season, she played an NBC television show Kidnapped. McDonald was awarded a 4th Emmy in her role as Lady Day in Emerson's Bar and Grill, which aired on HBO in 2016. In 2021, she appeared in a telecast with Taylor Schilling and Steven Pasquale in the film The Bite, a pandemic film produced by Spectrum Originals and CBS Studios. She starred in 2009 as U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence on CBS's legal drama The Good Wife. In the year 2018, McDonald returned to her role as Liz Reddick as a regular in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. She received three Critics Choice Award nods for the performance. The actor is currently appearing as a guest in Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age on HBO.
